Custom Paper Bags

Custom paper bags for retail, gifting and events.

Choose a printed paper bag around your products, brand and carrying needs. We help you plan the size, paper, handle and finish, then arrange a sample to check fit and the intended filled load.

Illustrative packaging concept.

Start with the carrying job

Record the largest packed item, total filled weight, how many products go in one bag and where the buyer will carry it. The finished width, height and depth should be checked with the actual contents, not only with a flat drawing.

A bag that looks right at the counter can still be awkward to fill or vulnerable to handle and surface damage in delivery. Check the base, handle attachment, packing form and master carton before settling the specification.

Retail handoff

Consider the product fit, printed presentation, handle comfort and how the bag is handed to the buyer.

Heavier or multi-item sets

Review filled weight, base stability, handle attachment and reinforcement with an appropriate sample or test basis.

Gift and event kits

Map item arrangement, opening, printed surfaces and whether an inner box or divider is needed.

Transport boundary

A carrying bag is not automatically a parcel shipper. Confirm whether an outer carton protects it in transit.

How a paper bag fits the delivery system

A carrying bag and a shipping carton have different jobs. Review both against the filled product and route.

Conceptual diagram, not to scale or a confirmed construction. A paper bag is evaluated for carrying and presentation. Parcel protection, where required, is reviewed separately.

Decisions to confirm for this product

Shape and baseConfirm finished dimensions, depth, base opening, product orientation and how the bag is filled.
PaperSelect a material after reviewing appearance, filled weight, printing, folds and surface handling. Available grades are quoted for the actual construction.
HandleConfirm whether a handle is needed, the carrying pattern, attachment and any reinforcement. Do not infer a load rating from a generic bag photo.
ArtworkProvide logo, color reference, mandatory copy and preferred print area. The usable area and finish depend on the approved paper and method.
Pack-outAgree whether bags ship flat, how handles and printed surfaces are protected, and the quantity per master carton.

Paper, handles and reinforcement are selected for your intended contents and carrying needs. The quotation confirms the sample, quantity, price and schedule for that construction.

Sampling, production and delivery

SampleCartonary arranges the agreed sample. Type, price, timing and approval criteria are confirmed in the project quote.
ProductionThe schedule depends on quantity and current production availability. Exact materials, dimensions and process combinations are approved for the order.
QualityChecks follow the industry inspection criteria applicable to the agreed product; the checkpoints and acceptance criteria are set for that order.
Packing and transportUnit packing and freight depend on quantity and buyer requirements. The buyer chooses the final shipping route.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start without a dieline?

Yes. Share the contents, dimensions, target quantity, destination and a reference bag. Design files, included revisions and fees are agreed for the project.

What is the minimum order?

Structure, paper, handle, printing and setup affect quantity and unit price. Share your target quantity for a project-specific quote; this page does not promise one economical minimum.

How is carrying strength checked?

Review the actual filled load and carrying pattern, then agree the sample or inspection points needed. A paper grade alone is not a tested bag load rating.

How are paper bags shipped?

Pack-out depends on the bag form, handle protection, quantity and buyer requirements. The buyer chooses the final shipping route.

Start with the details you know
