Product and artwork inputs

  • Maximum component dimensions, weight, orientation, cap or pump movement, and vulnerable surfaces.
  • Product photographs and a physical component when fit or appearance is critical.
  • SKU list, shades, languages, barcodes, ingredient or warning copy, and destination requirements.
  • Editable artwork, logos, linked images, fonts, color references, and separate finish layers.
  • Retail, ecommerce, gift, subscription, or wholesale route and the planned packing method.
  • Quantity by size and artwork version, destination, timing, unit packing, and master-carton needs.

The buyer remains responsible for product claims, ingredient or warning copy, translations, symbols, and market-specific requirements. Packaging approval does not replace regulatory review.

Control structure, artwork, and approval together.

1

Components

List products, dimensions, weight, orientation, accessories, visible surfaces, and route.

2

Structure

Approve size basis, package role, insert, opening, removal, outer protection, and current dieline.

3

Versions

Connect SKU, shade, language, barcode, artwork file, dieline, quantity, and carton mark in one matrix.

4

Release

Record color and finish references, sample purpose, unit packing, inspection points, and approval owner.

Structure and insert review

Define whether the paper package presents the product, restrains components, supports retail display, or also contributes to parcel protection. Record product movement, pressure points, removal method, accessories, and whether an outer shipper is required. A paper insert may organize components, but suitability depends on geometry, weight, edges, movement, packing, and route. Disclose non-paper components and review them separately.

Artwork and finish control

Dark coverage, small text, reflective finishes, coatings, textures, or embossed details need clear layers and references. A screen proof can confirm content and position but does not prove material appearance, production color, gloss, texture, or alignment. Approve each artwork version even when several variants share one structure.

Frequently asked questions

Can one structure serve several variants?

It can be reviewed when components share maximum dimensions, weight, orientation, and retention needs. Artwork, barcode, language, and quantity still need version control.

Do premium finishes need a physical sample?

Choose evidence by risk. A swatch may answer one question, while a combined sample may be needed for alignment, coverage, material interaction, and assembled appearance.

Is paper packaging suitable for direct cosmetic contact?

Do not assume it is. Direct or indirect contact, barrier needs, product chemistry, destination rules, and documentation must be reviewed for the exact application.

What belongs in the RFQ?

Include components, dimensions, weights, photos, structure, quantity by variant, artwork status, finishes, insert needs, packing, destination, timing, and buyer requirements.
